Register Smart Prepaid, TNT, Smart Bro, Home WiFi or a new Smart eSIM through Smart’s official route, with device-specific OTP and status guidance.

Smart registration in 30 seconds

For Smart Prepaid or TNT, open Smart’s official SIM registration portal, enter the mobile number and OTP, provide the requested personal information, upload a clear accepted ID and selfie, then submit. Keep the Control Number and wait for Smart’s SMS result. Smart Bro and Smart Home WiFi use the same portal, but their OTP may be read from a phone or device dashboard.

Open Smart’s official registration portal

Destination: smart.com.ph/simreg. Smart may route the session to its secure simreg.smart.com.ph portal.

Independent safety notice: this guide never asks for or receives your mobile number, OTP, ID image, selfie or registration details.

Which Smart SIMs need registration?

  • Smart Prepaid and TNT: a new SIM must complete registration before normal service is activated.
  • Smart Bro Prepaid and Smart Home WiFi Prepaid: use the same official portal, but retrieve the OTP through the method documented for the device.
  • New Smart Prepaid eSIM: install it as Smart instructs, then register it before services activate.
  • New Smart Postpaid and Home WiFi Postpaid: registration is handled through Smart’s assisted application process before SIM issuance and activation.
  • Smart Bro Postpaid: Smart documents a product-specific confirmation route; use it only for Smart Bro Postpaid or when Smart sends that instruction.
  • Company, government and other juridical-entity SIMs: an authorized representative uses Smart’s assisted process and provides organizational documents.

Smart’s registration terms cover Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro Prepaid and TNT. Do not reuse a Smart Bro or Postpaid instruction as a universal prepaid shortcut.

What to prepare

  • A phone, tablet or computer with internet access. Smart says access to its portal over Smart mobile data is zero-rated.
  • The Smart, TNT, Smart Bro or Home WiFi number being registered.
  • Access to the SMS inbox that receives the OTP; for a WiFi device, this may be its dashboard inbox.
  • Your full name, birth date, complete address, sex and nationality.
  • One clear, unexpired government-issued photo ID accepted by Smart.
  • A clear image of the ID and a clear selfie.
  • A way to save the Control Number displayed after submission.

Smart’s individual-registration terms also list an alternative contact number and email address as optional contact information. Do not label either one mandatory unless the live form does.

IDs listed in Smart’s official guidance

Smart lists passport, Philippine Identification, SSS ID, GSIS e-Card, driver’s license, NBI clearance, police clearance, Firearms License to Own and Possess ID, PRC ID, Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID, OWWA ID, BIR ID, voter’s ID, senior citizen card, UMID and PWD card. Smart also allows another valid government-issued ID bearing a photo.

Use Smart’s live list: carriers do not all process the same document formats. Choose an ID shown by Smart’s current form and compare document requirements in our valid-ID guide.

How to register Smart Prepaid or TNT online

  1. Open Smart’s official portal

Go to smart.com.ph/simreg. Check the domain before entering any personal information.

  2. Enter the mobile number and request the OTP

Use the number for the SIM or device being registered. Read the code from that SIM’s SMS inbox or the supported device dashboard.

  3. Enter the requested personal information

Supply the name, birth date, complete address, sex and nationality accurately. Match the identification document.

  4. Upload an accepted ID and a selfie

Use an unexpired ID. Keep the document readable and within the frame; show the full face in good light against a plain background.

  5. Review and submit

Correct typing or image-reading mistakes before sending the information to Smart for verification.

  6. Save the Control Number and wait for Smart’s result

Keep the Control Number for follow-up. Smart sends the registration outcome by SMS.

No invented timing: the current official sources reviewed do not support a universal OTP-expiry period, resend interval or guaranteed approval time.

How to check whether a Smart SIM is registered

  1. Check for Smart’s successful-registration SMS.
  2. Open Smart’s official registration portal, enter the mobile number and follow the entry flow. Smart’s status help says a registered Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro Prepaid or Home WiFi number receives an already-registered prompt.
  3. Use the saved Control Number when contacting Smart for follow-up.
About the app method: Smart’s older status article names the former GigaLife app and a Registered/Unregistered badge. The consumer app is now branded Smart App, while its current public product page does not document that badge. Use the portal method unless the live Smart App is verified.
Do not text a third-party status code. No current official Smart source reviewed supports a universal registration-status SMS command.

Minors, foreign visitors and business accounts

Minor

A person under 18 may not register the Smart SIM solely in their own name. The parent or guardian registers it under the parent or guardian’s name.

Foreign tourist

Smart’s terms require the passport, proof of Philippine address and a return or onward ticket. Tourist registration is temporary for 30 days. A visitor with a lawful visa extension can submit it through Smart’s assisted channels before the registration expires.

Other foreign national

Smart may require a passport, Philippine address proof and the applicable ACR I-Card, Alien Employment Permit, school registration/ID or Department of Justice document.

Business or organization

An authorized signatory uses Smart’s assisted process. Smart’s terms list the representative’s ID, name and position; authority document; organization contact details; SEC or DTI certificate as applicable; business name/address; and the applicable list of mobile numbers.

See minor registration, foreign-national registration and business registration.

After registration: changes, loss, replacement and transfer

  • Keep the Control Number and confirmation SMS for any follow-up.
  • Report changes to registered information through Smart’s assisted channels. Smart requires identity verification for profile changes.
  • Report loss or theft promptly. Use official Smart Cares channels, call *888 or (02) 8888-1111, then follow Smart’s store-replacement process.
  • Bring a valid photo ID for replacement. Avoid hard-coding fees or turnaround promises because current terms can change.
  • Report the registered owner’s death. Smart’s terms say a family member, relative or guardian should report it and the SIM is deactivated within 24 hours after a valid report.
  • Do not treat ownership transfer as instant self-service. The current owner must report it and the new owner must satisfy Smart’s transfer and registration requirements.
  • A new Smart Prepaid eSIM requires registration.
  • Handle Mobile Number Portability case by case. Smart’s MNP and eSIM pages describe assisted steps; do not claim one universal re-registration flow for every port-in product.
