The short answer

Find the PLDT Home WiFi mobile number on the back or bottom of the modem, open Smart’s official SIM-registration portal and request the OTP. While connected to the modem’s WiFi, open its local device dashboard, sign in with the credentials printed for that PLDT-branded unit and read the OTP in the SMS/Device Inbox. Return to Smart’s portal, verify the code, complete the form, upload an accepted ID and selfie, submit and save both the confirmation page and message.

Verified destinations: pldthome.com/simreg and simreg.smart.com.ph. PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi uses Smart’s SIM-registration system.

Independent safety notice: this guide never asks for the modem number, OTP, dashboard password, ID or selfie. Enter registration data only on PLDT Home/Smart’s official pages.

What to prepare

  • The PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi modem, switched on and within signal coverage.
  • The assigned mobile number printed on the back or bottom of the modem.
  • The device’s WiFi and dashboard credentials from its label/manual.
  • A phone or computer connected to the PLDT Home WiFi network.
  • Full name, date of birth, complete address, sex and other fields shown by Smart’s live form.
  • One accepted government-issued photo ID and a camera for the required selfie/liveness check.
  • A way to save the control number, confirmation page and confirmation message.
Number versus passwords: the mobile number identifies the SIM for registration. The WiFi password connects a device to the modem, while the dashboard password protects its local settings. Do not enter either password into an unofficial registration site.

How to register PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi

  1. Find the Home WiFi mobile number

PLDT says the number is printed on the back or bottom of the modem. Copy it carefully; it is not the WiFi network name.

  2. Connect to the PLDT Home WiFi

Power on the modem and connect the registration phone or computer using the WiFi details printed for that unit.

  3. Open Smart’s official registration portal

Use simreg.smart.com.ph, enter the Home WiFi mobile number and request the OTP.

  4. Open the PLDT modem dashboard

PLDT’s current support page documents https://192.168.1.1 for its Home WiFi dashboard. Use that address only while connected to your own PLDT Home WiFi and confirm the device label/manual if it specifies a different route.

  5. Sign in with the device credentials

PLDT documents pldthome as the default for PLDT-branded Home WiFi devices, but the label/manual or a password previously set by the owner controls. Do not apply this default to Smart-branded or unrelated routers.

  6. Read the OTP in the Device Inbox

Open the SMS section and then Device Inbox. Use the latest code sent for the registration request.

  7. Verify the OTP on Smart’s portal

Return to the official registration screen and enter the code. Never paste it into a guide, chat or remote-assistance form.

  8. Complete the customer-information form

Enter accurate personal and address details, choose an ID from the live menu, upload the complete ID image and complete the selfie/liveness step.

  9. Review the attestation and optional consent

Correct errors before accepting the accuracy declaration. PLDT distinguishes required registration attestation from optional marketing consent.

  10. Submit and save both confirmations

PLDT instructs users to screenshot the confirmation page and retain the confirmation message in the device inbox.

Dashboard safety and model differences

  • Stay on your own Home WiFi. The dashboard is a local device page, not a public registration portal.
  • Use the exact model’s label/manual. A later PLDT modem may use different credentials or interface wording.
  • A browser may warn about the local certificate. Proceed only when connected to your own modem and the local address matches PLDT’s or the device manual’s instruction.
  • Change a default dashboard password after setup when the device instructions support it, and store the replacement securely.
  • Do not expose the dashboard to a remote helper. The OTP and device settings should remain private.

How to know registration succeeded

PLDT says successful registration is shown by the confirmation page and confirmation SMS/message. Keep both. You can also check the account in the Smart app or repeat the opening verification through Smart’s official portal to see the current status prompt.

No status SMS shortcut: no universal SMS keyword is needed. Use PLDT/Smart’s confirmation, app, portal or official support.

Minors, foreigners and ownership

A SIM used for a minor’s household is registered under the parent or legal guardian. A foreign tourist needs a passport, proof of Philippine address and return/onward ticket; tourist registration is temporarily valid for 30 days. Other foreign nationals use the documents applicable to their status.

Register the Home WiFi SIM to its real end user and use the carrier’s authorized process for changed details, loss or ownership transfer. See minor registration, foreign-national requirements and SIM ownership transfer.

After registration

  • Keep the mobile number, confirmation and dashboard credentials private.
  • Use the official Smart app to manage the PLDT Home WiFi account where supported.
  • Maintain ordinary prepaid activity; registration does not override SIM or load validity.
  • Report a lost, stolen or transferred modem/SIM promptly.
  • Do not sell the device as an anonymous pre-registered connection.
