How to Get a SIM Registration OTP from a Modem or WiFi Device
Where the OTP appears for Globe At Home, Smart Bro and PLDT Home WiFi, plus safe steps for pocket WiFi and other modem SIMs.
The OTP is sent to the mobile number of the SIM inside the modem, so it normally appears in that device’s SMS or Device Inbox—not in the phone merely connected to its WiFi. Connect to the modem’s WiFi, open the dashboard documented on its label/manual or carrier page, sign in with the device credentials, then open SMS/Inbox and enter the newest OTP on the carrier’s official registration page.
What you need before requesting the OTP
- The correct modem/Home WiFi mobile number, usually found on the device, box or account record;
- The carrier’s verified SIM-registration portal or official app;
- The WiFi name and password printed on the router label or supplied by the owner;
- The dashboard/admin address and credentials for the exact model;
- A phone or computer that can stay connected to the modem while you read the inbox;
- Carrier signal on the router and a separate internet connection if the unregistered line cannot yet load the form; and
- The registrant’s accepted ID, details and selfie/identity check.
Registration applies to SIMs in modems and similar electronic devices under RA 11934. Review the full registration checklist before starting.
General modem-inbox steps
Power on the modem where it has carrier signal
Wait for the device to boot and check its SIM/network indicators against the model manual.
Open the official registration route
Enter the modem SIM’s mobile number, not the phone number of the person holding the device.
Request the OTP once
Use the current button on the official carrier page. Do not create multiple tabs or repeated requests.
Connect your phone or computer to the modem’s WiFi
Use the SSID and WiFi password on the device label or the credentials previously set by the owner.
Open the correct dashboard
Use the address in the device manual, label or carrier instructions. Sign in with the dashboard credentials, which are different from the WiFi password on some models.
Open SMS, Messages or Device Inbox
Find the newest carrier registration message and enter that OTP in the same official registration session.
Finish and save proof
Complete the form, ID and selfie steps; retain the confirmation/reference privately and check service.
Official route by product
| Product | Where the OTP is documented | Official starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi / Prepaid Internet Kit | Globe says to connect to the Home Prepaid WiFi, sign in to the modem dashboard with the username/password found on the device and open its SMS inbox. | globe.com.ph/register-sim-card |
| Smart Bro / Smart Home WiFi | Smart’s current product page directs users to connect to the router, open 192.168.1.1, use the credentials on the device and open the SMS tab. | smart.com.ph/simreg |
| PLDT Home WiFi Prepaid | PLDT says the OTP can be read from the device dashboard while connected to the Home WiFi, using 192.168.1.1 and the Device Inbox for the documented models. | pldthome.com/simreg / Smart portal |
| DITO Home WiFi / other DITO modem | Use the exact model manual and DITO’s product/help instructions. DITO devices and account types do not share one universal dashboard route in the public SIM-registration guidance. | dito.ph/sim-registration and DITO Help Center |
| Other pocket WiFi, tracker or IoT SIM | Use the carrier/product’s SMS-capable dashboard or assisted business route. Globe’s business FAQ says a prepaid SIM with no SMS-capable device may be inserted in a mobile device for OTP, but only follow that instruction where the carrier and hardware permit it. | Carrier business or product support |

Globe At Home modem OTP
Enter the Globe Prepaid Internet Kit/Home WiFi number
Use Globe’s official SIM-registration route.
Connect to the Globe modem
Join its WiFi network using the credentials on the device.
Open its dashboard
Use the exact address and login documented for your model, then open the SMS inbox.
Enter the newest OTP
Return to the same Globe registration session, complete the identity form and save the reference number.
Globe does not publish one dashboard address for every modem in its general SIM-registration FAQ, so avoid copying a Smart/PLDT address into a Globe guide.
Smart Bro and PLDT Home WiFi OTP
Find the WiFi mobile number
Smart and PLDT say it can be found on the back or bottom of the router for supported products.
Request the OTP at Smart’s portal
Use smart.com.ph/simreg.
Connect to the router and open 192.168.1.1
This address is specifically documented by Smart and PLDT for their current Home WiFi guidance. Use the label/manual if your model differs.
Sign in and open the SMS tab
Use the admin credentials on the router label or its official instructions, then select SMS/Device Inbox.
Verify and complete registration
Enter the latest OTP in the original portal tab, finish the identity steps and retain the confirmation.
Modem OTP troubleshooting table
| Problem | Safe check |
|---|---|
| Dashboard will not open | Confirm you are connected to that modem’s WiFi, not mobile data or another router; use the model’s label/manual address. |
| Admin login fails | Distinguish the WiFi password from the dashboard password. Check whether the owner previously changed it; do not factory-reset without understanding the consequences. |
| SMS tab is missing | Check the model manual and carrier product page. Some interfaces rename or limit the inbox. |
| No OTP in the inbox | Check the router’s carrier signal, number and newest messages; use the portal’s resend control only when it becomes available. |
| Several OTPs appear | Use the newest one in the single session that requested it. |
| OTP is rejected | Close duplicate portal tabs and start a clean session if it expired. Do not cycle through old codes. |
| SIM not detected | Follow the carrier/device instructions. Do not break a sealed unit; request product support if the SIM or router may be defective. |
| Registration succeeds, internet does not | Check router signal, account/data state, SIM detection and setup separately. See registered but no service. |
Dashboard and OTP security
- Do not post the WiFi number, admin password, OTP or registration reference.
- Do not expose the dashboard to remote access for an unknown helper.
- Use the carrier portal in a separate verified browser tab.
- Log out of the dashboard when finished, especially on a shared computer.
- Store the updated admin password according to the device manual and business access policy.
- For company fleets, document who controls each SIM and router through the business-SIM process.
What to provide to carrier support
Report the carrier, exact modem model, WiFi/mobile number through a private verified channel, signal-light state, dashboard address used, whether the SIM is detected, whether ordinary SMS appears and the portal error. Do not provide the OTP itself or send an ID through a public message.
Frequently asked questions
Where does a modem SIM’s registration OTP go?
To the SMS inbox associated with the SIM inside the modem, usually accessible through its device dashboard.
What dashboard address should I use?
Use the exact model’s label, manual or carrier page. Smart and PLDT currently document 192.168.1.1 for the supported Home WiFi guidance; that is not universal.
Is the dashboard password the WiFi password?
Not always. Check the router label/manual for separate WiFi and admin credentials.
Can I remove the SIM and put it in a phone?
Only if the carrier and hardware instructions permit it. Do not break a seal or risk a product/warranty issue when a supported modem inbox exists.
Which OTP should I use if several arrived?
Use the newest code generated by the active portal session and stop making additional requests.
Should I factory-reset the router?
Not as a first step. A reset can erase settings and passwords; use model-specific carrier support before taking that action.
Why is there no internet after registration?
Registration and service are separate. Check signal, SIM detection, data/account state and router setup.
