How the Digital National ID, physical National ID and PSA-issued paper format work, plus safe upload, QR authentication and rejection fixes.
Yes. The Philippine Statistics Authority says the Digital National ID is valid proof of identity and age with the same validity and functionality as the physical National ID and National ID in paper format (ePhilID), subject to proper authentication. Globe’s current SIM-registration list explicitly accepts the National ID in PVC, paper and digital PSA formats. For any carrier, select the official National ID option in its live form and use the format and authentication method it displays.

PSA says all three formats have the same functionality and validity. For Filipino citizens, the National ID has no expiration; demographic or biometric information is updated when needed.
How to access the Digital National ID safely
Use the official portal or app
Open national-id.gov.ph on a trusted device or use the official eGovPH app. Do not follow a social-media “assistance” link.
Complete PSA identity verification
Enter your own demographic information and complete the official live facial verification. Never let a stranger control the session.
Review the displayed identity
Check spelling, birth date and other relevant details. If data are outdated, use a PSA registration center offering updating services.
Download the official copy
PSA says a screenshot may be taken, but recommends downloading a copy for transactions. Do not alter, retouch or place it in a homemade template.
Protect the file and QR code
Store it like any identity document. Do not post it, email it to an unverified helper or leave it in a shared public folder.
How to authenticate the QR code
PSA says the Digital National ID can be authenticated through National ID Check at everify.gov.ph/check. The details displayed by the check should match the ID. Authentication helps distinguish an official National ID from an edited image or unauthorized card.
- Use the official everify.gov.ph domain;
- Keep the full QR visible and unaltered;
- Match the result with the person and form details;
- Do not send the ID to a third-party “verification service”; and
- Follow the carrier’s own authentication step where its form integrates one.

Step-by-step SIM registration with the Digital National ID
Prepare the SIM and official ID file
Make sure the line can receive its OTP and the Digital National ID is the current official copy.
Open the carrier’s verified route
Navigate from the carrier homepage or use the official carrier chooser.
Verify the number and OTP
Enter the code only on the verified carrier platform and never share it with a helper.
Enter details that match the identity record
Review any OCR-filled name, birth date and other fields. Correct genuine scanning errors before submitting.
Select National ID and provide the official format
Upload, display or capture it exactly as the live form instructs. Keep the QR and all required edges readable.
Complete the carrier selfie/liveness check
Use good lighting and your own live image. The NPC recognizes selfie verification as a carrier identity-verification measure subject to data-protection obligations.
Save the carrier result
Retain the reference or Control Number and confirmation privately. Do not post either alongside the ID.
If you prefer the PSA-issued paper format
PSA says a registered person may visit a National ID registration center and bring the transaction slip to request the National ID in paper format. Use the current PSA registration-center list. The official paper format is not the same as printing the Digital National ID on a home printer or plastic card.
Common errors and safe fixes

Privacy and anti-fraud checklist
- Use only national-id.gov.ph, eGovPH and the carrier’s verified route.
- Do not pay for access to your Digital National ID or for SIM-registration “approval.”
- Do not share the ID image, QR code, OTP, selfie or registration reference in social media.
- Do not upload the ID to an independent SIM guide; this site never requests it.
- Do not print or buy an unauthorized PVC version.
- Delete temporary copies from shared or borrowed devices after the official transaction.
- Report a suspected fake carrier page using the phishing guide.
If you have not registered for the National ID
The Digital National ID is available to people already registered in the National ID system; it is not an instant substitute created during the carrier form.
